River Oaks Golf Plantation received the 2015 Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course of the Year. The award was given by the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association. The association gives the award each year to the course that embodies four criteria:
1. Quality of Course
2. Exceptional Quality of Ownership & Management
3. Outstanding Contribution to Community
4. Contribution to growing the game
After a multi million dollar renovation in 2009/2010 River Oaks began its journey to re-establish itself as popular course among golfers. The owners of the course have been leaders in the community at the local and state level and have years of muliti course operation experience. Along with hosting dozens of charitable events throughout the year River Oaks Golf Plantation is also the home of the Myrtle Beach Junior Golf Foundation which is devoted to teaching kids the game of golf. On any given day you could see as many as 30-40 kids practicing and playing at the Academy.
River Oaks is one of the most popular courses for Platinum Golf Members to play. Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach it is easy to find and a pleasure to play.
